Hej! Hey! Hei!

December 3rd, 2015. It was the day my husband & I landed in the 4th most populous country in the world.
261,115,456 people & 17,508 islands -- I was thinking, fuck. That's a lot of people to co-exist with.

I was born in the Metropolitan city of Jakarta, back in '94, on a scorching Friday, exactly seconds after the caller for mid-day prayer. Unfortunately, being born right after mid-day prayer call did not make me religious. My parents, who both met in Jakarta, had a ceramic shop in an area called Mangga Dua (it is one of the busiest areas to do business, lots of fake Gucci bags nowadays there). Two years later, due to their tight economical problem, the 3 of us moved to Bogor, also famously known as the Rainy City. Not long after that, my little baby brother was born, and we moved to bigger and better houses ever since.

In my teenage years, I wanted the city life, the crowd, the mall life, the traffic, the over-priced meals, the cool parties, and the accessibility. The dream of being a metropolitan gal still did exist even until I moved to Japan for my undergraduate. I would save up all my part-time job salary, and would go to Tokyo every chance I got (with or without company). I loved being in a crowd of strangers. But only until I felt that being in a crowd of strangers would only make me feel so lonely. So that dream has sailed. After I've come to the realisation that I was not all that "city" afterall, I've decided to come back to my quiet and breezy hometown. So here I am, living MY dream life, ready to face the challenges this life has to offer *sips more coffee*, hoping to become a better person, a better stranger, a better sister, wife, friend, and daughter.

With love.

Lille is such a small town, that you could walk around it for almost a day. We arrived in the day around 11am, and explored the city center in hours. It was a Sunday when we arrived so pretty much all the shops were closed.

Most cafes in the square have outdoor seatings, which made it feel "communal" and you can watch people dance in the middle of the square as the town gets darker.
