HALL OF MIRRORS

Galerie Des Glaces

Now this. The Hall of Mirrors is the most famous room in the Chateau. And yes, this room is SO BEAUTIFUL. Trust me, it is as beautiful as the pictures. The vibe of this room is just so positive, with natural light coming in. There is no space of emptiness in this room. Just check the ceiling, it's full of small beautiful details! Even the frames of the freakin' awesome paintings are freakin' dope! Like, I would do any job back in the days to be able to work in this place. I haven't even got started with the view yet, omg, this room has the view of the main garden in the previous pages.

Did you know that this room was finished after 11 years? Yeah if I had a kid, he would already be in 5th grade by now. And obviously, this room aka ballroom was the main ballroom for huge royal events.

We finally made it to the Hall of Mirrors! Despite of the sea of tourists in the background.

other rooms in the Chateau

Alright guys, to be honest I googled all these information above before going to the palace just to get a gist of what these rooms are for etc etc. But honestly, the rest of the rooms below, I don't even know what they're for. The palace is just too big, legs already felt like mom's spaghetti. But enjoy the pics! I bet they're "just" guests bedrooms.

I guess this is all we have for this section. If I had to do it again, I would. I would take the earliest train and bought the tickets far before the day, so I could experience it once again without being tired already. It was all worth it at the end. The palace is actually the main reason why I wanted to visit Paris in the first place.

I want to thank my husband for being patient and actually helped me get through with it from the beginning of the day, trying to find the right metro, queueing for the tickets, shooing people that tried to cut the line, and staying cool for the whole day. And at the end of the day, when I asked him if he was ok, he told me he did all this because he knew how crazy I am about this palace :'D And of course, thanks lil bro and mom for coming along with us! This is one trip to be remembered. FOREVER.

Lille is such a small town, that you could walk around it for almost a day. We arrived in the day around 11am, and explored the city center in hours. It was a Sunday when we arrived so pretty much all the shops were closed.

Most cafes in the square have outdoor seatings, which made it feel "communal" and you can watch people dance in the middle of the square as the town gets darker.
