theme

We went for a simple beach rustic theme. I think, in some way, it represents who we are.

It was a buffet style dinner, with free flow drinks, alcohol included.

We wanted our close friends and families to feel safe, not too glamorous that they'd feel uptight or insecure.

We wanted people to have fun, and not feel bothered having to go to a "forced" party.

We had a touch of blue, yellow, creme colors, with beach-inspired decors, hence the pearls and starfish.

organizer

If you are getting married some time soon, and if you want to organize it by yourself (like we did),

go meet my "best friend" : https://www.bridestory.com/id

They're basically your virtual wedding helper, that listed many vendors (mostly are in Bali and Jakarta),

for pretty much any category. Invitations, venues, bands to make up artists.

As to myself, I didn't think I need a Wedding Organizer, I know it was going to be lot of work going through everything by yourself from a distance, but I actually enjoy being kept busy doing preps like this :D

And besides, it feels a lot easier if you don't have someone "promoting" you their own vendors just because they get a little commission for it. This is a good way to cut our budget, advice: try to compare prices between WO prices and Non-WO prices before you jump into this decision.

Some WO actually tries to give you a better deal, and if have no time for this, getting n WO is the most efficient.

After all, time is money, too.

Another reason we didn't need one is because we really wanted a different party, not even a "wedding party".

And it would be hell having to explain to them why we didn't want any cultural traditions or ceremonies.

For inspirations, check out Pinterest, they have BUNCH of decor inspos and ideas.

It'll make you want to have 1,000 parties.

Lille is such a small town, that you could walk around it for almost a day. We arrived in the day around 11am, and explored the city center in hours. It was a Sunday when we arrived so pretty much all the shops were closed.

Most cafes in the square have outdoor seatings, which made it feel "communal" and you can watch people dance in the middle of the square as the town gets darker.
